Join St David’s Players for an evening with a galaxy of hilarious and finely drawn characters, fast moving action, plenty of humour, a wonderful range of music, and support the charity ‘Hospiscare’ at the same time.

For their 50th anniversary production, the players have chosen the last and rarely performed work of the Gilbert and Sullivan duo ‘The Grand Duke’.

The story combines the worlds of a theatre company, the legal profession, espionage, matrimony and the glitter of a casino… all set in the ‘well-known’ Bavarian-style Duchy of Pfennig Halbpfennig.

Prepare to enter a typically topsy-turvy Gilbertian world where eating a sausage roll could be more significant than you think; drawing a playing card from a pack could be life threatening; where you may receive guidance about how to save and to make money and – should you ever find it necessary –how to manage being simultaneously engaged to four different people!
