Blue Jewel are a group of top south Devon musicians brought together at the beginning of 2010 by Steve Banks (member of the Carnival Band, best known for their UK Christmas tours with folk legend Maddy Prior). Steve’s sublime violin playing and vocals are beautifully complemented by Pat Butterly on double bass and Scott McGowan on acoustic guitar (there will be no drums for this concert). The programme will include tracks from their album “Dart Songs”, a celebration of the natural beauty and history of the Dart estuary in music and song. The concert will be a feast of variety – stirring ballads, fast and furious Irish jigs and reels, fantastic arrangements of songs by great names such as James Taylor, the Incredible String Band and Monty Python!
