A live performance of the critically acclaimed thought-provoking album 'andabrek' in its entirety, specially arranged and performed by Stephen James with a live band and a full choir. Highly Recommended.

The album 'andabrek' was released in April 2009. It is a musical story that journeys through an exploration of the human condition. Although based on an original idea by Stephen James, the inspiration to produce it as a concept album was influenced by Howard Jones' 'Humans Lib' and the cult sixties TV series; 'The Prisoner' starring Patrick McGoohan - in fact Stephen James has often joked in radio interviews that if the album never tops the charts it would at least be nice if it reaches Number Six!

Since its release the album has received glowing reviews and Stephen James has appeared many times on local radio stations, particularly BBC Radio Devon and Exeter FM, talking about the album and performing live in the studio as well as tracks from the album being aired to an enthusiastic audience. Naturally the appearance on the album of Doctor Who favourite; Tom Baker, has also drawn much interest!

Stephen himself has been a musician since childhood, studying under the world famous organist and choirmaster Simon Lindley. As a teenager he was a member of a band having tracks played on Radio 1's 'Round Table' and the John Peel show, as well as making an appearance on a Virgin Records compilation album. More recently, he was placed 3rd in a national vote in the "Open Mic UK 2009" singing competition, and just last year received a standing ovation for his audition for Sky Television's "Must Be The Music".

Since the album's release, it has been suggested many times that it's 80's influenced keyboard driven rock style lends itself towards rock opera or a modern musical and it was at the suggestion of a fan that Stephen took the decision to incorporate a choir into the live performance thus adding a whole wonderful new dimension to the songs.
With a live choir from VoiceWorx.
