The Exeter Barnfield Theatre is
located in the centre of Exeter on Barnfield Road, Southernhay.
The Barnfield Hall was built towards the end of 19th
Century by Exeter Literary Society. In 1972 the hall was converted
into the Barnfield Theatre.
Barnfield Theatre Limited is (a
registered charity), run the theatre which is used by local
amateur and professional companies as well as touring professional
theatrical companies.
The main auditorium is fully furnished with stage lighting and
sound equipment with raked seating providing a complete view of
the stage from any part of the theatre. It is suitable for
conferences, lectures as well as stage productions.
The Clifford Room is used for many different purposes such as
rehearsal space, studio theatre, conference room etc. The seating
is modular allowing a raked or flat floor seating and can be
arranged for any theatrical requirements such as in the round or
traverse setting. The room is a reasonable priced and
is used by all parts of the community.
The Colleton Bar is fully licensed to serve refreshments to
patrons. It is open one hour before evening performances and
remains open until half an hour after the performance ends.
Alcohol is only permitted to be consumed in the bar area, cafe and
lower foyer.
M The Cafe Bar, situated off
the main foyer as you enter the theatre. The menu includes filled
sandwiches, baguettes, paninis and jacket potatoes. Open from one
hour before a performance and daily between 10am and 3pm, Monday
to Friday. |
